Good idea for Cave Trolls proxy (LOTR Risk)
« on: February 08, 2014, 05:42:41 PM »
http://warmaster-fr.niceboard.com/t424-forum-sg-bofa-trolls-des-cavernes

Stumbled upon these wonderful conversions on the Warmaster France board.

After translating realised that they were these models from the LOTR Risk board game.

Not a lot to tell really. Removed the plastic bases, removed part of the hammer on some and replaced with a spear. The chain is just cheap necklace chain drench in super glue to hold it in place, and then undercoated black and painted the colours you see. I don't have them any more, I sold my entire BOFA collection about a year ago.

Here's a pic of them with some other BOFA mini's so you can see how they scale.

Lovely - and gorgeous basing too.

Is that the official Smaug model but shaved of his fiery base?

Thanks mate.

Yeah, that is the official Smaug model. I didn't like the look of it banking and sitting on its wing, so I did a little bit of filing, bending and positioning and mounted him flying level instead.

They look really good.

Do you know what size/scale the other figures in the LoTR Risk are? From looking at various eBay photos they look about 10-15mm?

Really nice and well painted figures . I wonder if a certain prolific sculpter may be persuaded to do some similar 10mm cave trolls . It's worth a thought .
