Boarding with BFI
« on: October 21, 2013, 09:51:47 PM »
This came up in our game tonight and i couldnt find answer for it anywhere:

If your ship is on brace for impact special order can it declare boarding actions normally in the movement phase and then board at endphase?

It just sound stupid that the crew is ready to board other ships when they are bracing against the bulkheads.

If i recall correctly you can't make any boarding action/teleport boarding while you are on BFI. Can't point out a rule reference though.

Well they do get a negatitive to their boarding when on special orders, I would just go with it.
I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

After taking a quick look at the rule book I see that Brace for Impact is mentioned in the blue book on page 35 where is disallows teleport attacks but I can't find a reference for it prohibiting boarding actions.

I agree it does sound a bit inconsistent as the book describes boarding actions as sending troops over via "teleporters, shuttles, life pods, and in pressure suits" (pg34) but that may be just a bit of artistic license.

Your opponent would get the +1 for special orders though.
