Differences between rulebook versions
« on: June 19, 2013, 09:11:09 AM »
I was wondering if there are any rules differences between the 1999 paper rulebook and the 2006 (?) PDF version of the rulebook that is on the Games Workshop website.

Having to print and use the 2010 FAQ will be cumbersome enough, so I'd like to stick to using my original rulebook if at all possible.

Hi,

the most important changes between 1999/2006:

1) Nova Cannon is no longer guess range but makes use of a scatter dice.

2) Attack Craft limitation (one cannot have more attack craft active in play then available launch bays in his fleet (at that point in the game)).

sub 2) Ordnance no longers runs out when rolling a double on the Special Order to Reload Ordnance.

3) Some point changes: Retribution/Emperor swapped, Styx 275pts (260 in FAQ2010!).

Ok, thanks. That's easy enough to remember as its also in the FAQ or easy enough to subtly modify in the original book.

Anything else?

Turret suppression. It's also in the FAQ (and in Armada). If I recall correctly: Fighters that are escorting bombers and that are not intercepted by hostile CAPs each add 1 to the total number of attack runs. The number of attacks gained this way cannot exceed the number of bombers in the wave, nor can it exceed the number of turrets that the ship has.
