I stumbled across a new thread on Dakka in which Grimdarkbits (creator of the extensive BFG proxy range on Shapeways with a dozen or so fighters and that nice Pre-Heresy Strike Cruiser many of you will be familiar with but if not see below).

This is his WIP:

It sounds like it's a bit undersized and IMO doesn't look quite right atm. You lot are much more experienced at BFG and it's ships than me, perhaps you could offer him the feedback he asks for in the Dakka thread?

Link to that thread?
I'm lazy and detest dakka dakka but I'll reactivate my account just for this.

It was in my previous post but here again - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/524524.page

Fingers crossed he finishes and uploads it before getting hit by a Cease and Desist but considering the large amount of new very blatant models he's put up that might be unlikely.

His strike cruiser and orky ordinance have been up for quite sometime now without troubles but those space marine dreadnaughts might turn an eye or two to say te least o_O
I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

Damn. I think his proportions are off (needs to be longer before the prow IMO). However I am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

That was my feeling. It needs another 10-20mm before the prow. Overall length is a bit above a regular cruiser but well under a BB so I feel it's a little small for a battlebarge.

I am wondering if it'd make a decent alt-Repulsive though.

The vertical height of the prow is too great compared to the slope of the strike cruiser prow. Makes the ship appear bloated. The fins on the side of the prow doesn't help the look either and the ones at the back are awkward as well. I also think the engines extend too far past the rear of the ship which ends up looking pretty odd.

The prow either needs to follow the design of the strike cruiser or it needs to take some ques from the despoiler.

Wonder if it is suppose to be an Inwit patter Battlebarge. One of those is described as being in the 8km range in Crimson Fist.

Personally I'd be more than happy with just a bigger version of the Strike Cruiser, I really like the shape of it.
