Battleships have better sensors?
Last time I checked 60cm Carnage weapon batteries or Overlord dorsal lances @ 60cm needed the same dice rolls to hit as 60cm weaponry on Despoilers and Emperors.
That argument doesn't work for me. At all.

Nate Montez designed a vessel with twin-linked Nova Cannons. And still made it to the High Admirality afterwards.
Also: it has been considered for the Mechanicus Ark for a long time by Ray Bell (HA), it was dropped at only the very last moment.
