Expanding the Fleets

Now that I have not one, but two significant fleets, the mad rush into a new game is subsiding and I have the chance to figure out what I want to do next. Barring building a Tau fleet, because Forgeworld is expensive and far away, what do you recommend I buy next?

Note: for Imperial ships, I'm likely to build some of them out of Mechanicus kits, because it would tickle me to have some Mechanicus ships fighting alongside my Imperial ships, and maybe even build a Mechanicus fleet some day. I'm also interested in adding Space Marines and potentially building a Space Marine fleet, too.

To start with, here's what I already have:

So, what do you think would be most fun to acquire next as I expand these fleets, including the option of adding Space Marines to my Imperial list?

Well, i would go for another cruiser box and a grand cruiser for each of your fleets to give you some more options. For an admech or sm element i would probably go for a strike cruiser/ cruiser and a group of escorts to start and use them along side your IN.

Yeah, with SM I'd start off with a strike cruiser or two, and then either Hunter or Nova class escorts (in this case go for the FW for the escorts, they're much nicer than the GW ones). 

If you want to get Fancy with your mini making, you might consider talking to mangozac about strike cruisers.  He might have some interesting ideas and bits available.
