Painting Troubles
« on: October 30, 2012, 05:47:55 PM »
Hey folks, a quick distraction from the BFG:R discussion: I started painting my first Chaos ship, a devastation class cruiser "Imperfect" (It'll be squadronned with it's sister ship, "Perfection"). I'm painting these two as Emperor's Children. I've painted the Hulls Lich Purple, and I painted the bands on the prow in Shinning Gold. The light I'm in exacerbates this effect, but the gold makes the purple look so dark in comparison, and with the amount of gold these ships will have, I'm worried about the purple not really showing through. Does anyone have any advice on making the purple "pop"?

Oh, forgot to mention, pre-heresy gold and purple, as opposed to lurid pink and blank and gold. ;)

Stark highlights of the purple, almost to the white.

Despite the fact that the purple is mostly in crevices?
