Tau Kor'Or'Vesh

Hey guys,

Not much experience with tau in general, but looking to collect a tau force from FW, partially influenced by ThaneAquilon's cool looking Tau fleet. I don't have much experience playing them, but here's what I thought would be a cool list. It is built using 180pt protector and 45pt castellan

2000pts
Kor'O + Aun'O
2 x Custodian Grand Cruiser
6 x Warden Gunship
6 x Castellan Gunship
4 x Protector Cruiser (2 x Vior'La configuration)

Basic strategy is too keep the custodians back alongside one very angry castellan squadron, hoping to catch some unlucky chump in a scissor of 28 torpedo, 12 AC, 36 Battery, 4 Lance face-pulp-a-thon. Two groups, each composed of 2 protectors (1 of each variant) and three wardens, loop and weave around the field, drawing opponents out and into the range of the other groups for combined fire, hopefully polymorphing them into crimson space-paste. The fleet has lots of long range torpedoes (great against chaos, pretty good against IN and Orks), pretty average ordnance (great against orks and SM), and enough long batteries to stand a chance against eldar.

Is this fleet too weak, and does it having any glaringly obvious weaknesses?

Sounds good and it gives you lots of options for smaller games.
I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

Yeah, that's a great fleet. It's something I would consider getting too when the time comes for me to get Tau.

I'm just a little woried that it is too fragile; there's not a lot of hits for 2000pts. Do tau have enough long range death and maneuverability to negate this somewhat, or does this fleet need more line ships?

Good fleet.
The versatility will make up for hits.

You were incorrect, this is pretty much exactly were I planned to bring my Tau fleet, not that there is much other choice. :P

Incorrect? On what?

If it bothers you that this fleet would be similar to yours, I can change it; remove a custodian and its warden and replace it with more castellans and protectors. There might not be much model range in the FW tau, but I figured my list would be different enough that you wouldn't care to much.

Consider it flattering; I generally don't like tau in the 40k multiverse.

Nah, I don't really care, don't worry about it. I'll have some GW Tau to supplement my fleet anyway.
