BFG Tau questions

Hi all  :)

I'm new to BFG and have a couple of questions about the Tau fleet I'd be very happy if someone could answer.

As I really like the FW Tau models (and they are in resin) would I have to buy the IA3 book and then just read and use the normal BFG rules (the .pdf's on GW's website)?

Is it split into FW Tau models using the IA3 book + normal BFG rules pdf and GW metal models + BFG rules/Armada lists? And can you mesh them together, or is it only possible to use one list?

I hope this made any sense :D

My aim is to have this tied into my normal 40k Tau Army.

You'll need the rulebook and armada pdfs, as well as the latest FAQ pdf. That covers all the basic rules. To use the FW Tau models you'll be wanting to download the Tau Protection Fleet pdf from here. You'll find the latest FAQ pdf on that page too, as well a lot of other race lists (Orks, SMs, Inquisition, Rogue Traders, etc).

The mix-list (GW+FW models) can be found in the Tau CPF list Sigoroth offers the link for.
