Sea Effect?
« on: July 05, 2011, 07:31:52 PM »
I have been inspired by a recent YouTube Video where "RubbishinRubbishout" shows how to make a sea board using an Australian product called Glass Coat. This is a two part resin apoxy. It dries clear, with minimal bubling, is extremely hard wearing. Unfortunately it is only available in the UK at extreme prices (going off the official coverage it would cost over £150 to cover an eight foot by 6 foot board) and because it is dangerous - is prohibitvely expensive to ship so I can't source it anywhere else cheaper.

Does anyone have any experience of making a very large water effect board and how did you do it.
I could just use PVA or cheap resin but I'm afraid it won't look very good....

Any advice would be appreciated from those modellers on the forum.  ???

Here Andymix (I think, but not sure, he was/is in this forum too) explain how to make wonderful sea tables

http://warmaster-acolytes.mforos.com/1774373/9326975-tableros-de-mar/

There is a link to his page/blog where explain (in spanish) but with a lot of pictures how to build it.

If you are not a spanish speaker, you could use a translator. If any of you are interested, ask here, and I could try to translate it... or maybe Andymix appears and have something to say :)

hope it helps
