Blackstone Fortress Super Mega Death Shot

Any thoughts on this?

The Activated Blackstone Fortress “Super Mega Death” Shot: Instead of firing normally, the Blackstone Fortress may use the Armageddon Overcharge rules (including all restrictions) on p.153 of Armada. Multiple Blackstone Fortresses may combine this shot as follows: All Blackstone Fortresses must be within 15cm of each other. When charging, none of the Fortresses can use their weapons for all three turns. However, they may move normally, and their shields each increase in strength by 2. The space between them fills with beams of pure warp immaterium, as determined by a straight line between the stems of two Blackstone Fortresses or the area bounded by lines between the stems of three. Ordnance and escorts touching this area are immediately destroyed (no brace saves allowed) with no effect to the Blackstone Fortresses. Capital ships can completely disrupt the charging process, taking Strength 8 lance shots per Activated Fortress ignoring shields to do so (no brace saves allowed). This will cause one automatic hit point ignoring shields to each Blackstone Fortress linked in this manner and disable all weapons, shields and movement for all the Fortresses for D3 turns, after which the charging process can begin again if desired. If the two or three Blackstone Fortresses successfully complete their Overcharge together, they must then immediately fire their “super mega death” shot, originating from the stem of any one Blackstone Fortress. The effects are identical as for firing the gun as described on p.153 of Armada, except that if two Blackstone Fortresses combine their charge together, the maximum range is 90cm. If three Blackstone Fortresses do so, the effective range is 150cm! No more than three Blackstone Fortresses can be used in this manner.

Well... I won't see happening this often. Opponents will drive down some light cruisers or other fast ships to interrupt the 1500pts charging melee....

Anyway, sounds like fun.

Well, I don't know what the Armageddon Overcharge rules are so I can't comment on the power of success, but the 1d3 turns of losing weapons, shields, and movement seems a bit harsh, especially if this can be achieved by sacrificing just one fast cruiser. How about adding 'If the Capital Ship survives' to the beginning of that sentence to ensure that the enemy doesn't simply use a nearly-destroyed vessel, heavy transport, or other insignificant vessel to trigger the backlash?
