how many Troll Slayers is "enough"?
« on: October 25, 2019, 03:14:42 PM »
I've got 4 units, but I'm thinking of pairing it down to 2. We mostly play 2k games. One day a 3k might be fun, but it wouldn't ever be a regular occurence. This is what I've got at present:

Quote
Dwarfs, 2935 points
Warmaster Revolution
--------------------------------
 990 - 9 Warriors
 360 - 4 Handgunners
 440 - 4 Rangers
 180 - 2 Cannon
 100 - 2 Flame Cannon
 150 - 2 Gyrocopter
 155 - 1 General
 240 - 3 Hero
 320 - 3 Runesmith
     - 1 Anvil (50)
--------------------------------
2935 - 23/12

Have never needed more than two slayers. The bizarre decision in the early days of WM to prevent them brigading reduced their attack options. And too many units can - because they are on auto destruct - push a normally low break army over the edge prematurely.
"I cannot believe you when you say [your friend] has identical plastic boxes for his armies, all color coded [...] Don't you think that is being little obsessive?"
"Yes, but not enough to scare us wargamers."
