[BFG] crabking's Fleets (Corsair Eldar finished)
« on: September 24, 2019, 09:11:18 AM »
Hello fellow fleet commanders,

after playing my scratchbuilt Tyranid fleet for a couple of years now, I finally managed to paint some of the ships from my lead pile. It all began, when I was visiting my FLGS to buy some Contrast Paints. Iyanden Yellow... Iyanden would be a perfect fluffy enemy for my existing Tyranid fleet. It let me ponder, wether it was possible to quickly paint BFG ships. Well it is.

I started with two 3D printed Wraithships and 4 Shadowhunter escorts.

Then you see another squadron of Shadowhunters.

The third and fourth Wraitship, on this image you can compare a 3D printed ship versus an original.

And finally I painted the Dragonship and the Flame of Asuryan at last. All in all I managed to finish the whole fleet in 10 days.

After finishing my Craftworld Eldar I started to paint their corsair cousins. The first ships are Nightshade Destroyers.

Thanks mates  ;D

I finished the remaining escorts today. 2 Aconite frigates and 3 Hemlock destroyers. Capital ships are next.

A friend of mine printed them for me. He used an Elegoo Mars Resin printer.

That's pretty cool. Now to find a 3d printer.

I especially love the Dragon ship and Flame of Assuryan. Are they 3D printed or an original model from GW ?

Fleet in complete is awesome, of course :)

Thank you! The Flame of Asuryan and the Dragonship are originals.

I played two games of BFG with the Craftworld list yesterday. I mainly play tyranids and it was the first time for my group that someone played this faction. Well it was different. I manage to achieve a minor victory against IN (12:8) and a rather bigger victory against Dark Eldar (Civil War!!!). But I must admit, that Dark against Craftworld Eldar does not make for an interesting game.

Nonetheless I finished two Eclipse cruisers for the Corsairs tonight. Next is the battleship and two extra escorts, so I have something to do while Contrast paint or wash are drying.
