Wet vs. Dry - Nurgle Chaos vs. Tomb Kings (photos)
« on: September 24, 2016, 07:58:06 PM »
I met "industrial trousers" today for the first time today and we played a great battle at his house. I haven't played for 5 years, so I was very rusty and he hadn't played Warmaster before, so we spent quite a lot of time leafing through the rule book and probably making lots of mistakes with combat.. but it was fantastic fun.

Here are some photos. I think the battlefield looks pretty good and I'll happily say that industrial trousers' models are truly sensational in reality. A privilege to be roundly beaten by them!

The town hall is a Kibri N Scale model, painted and slightly embellished (griffon statues and a little shield on the wall). I also chucked out the rubbish stickers and drew on the timbers with a sharpie and ruler.

Thanks very much for the game today and apologies for not getting more familiar with the rules beforehand. That TK army is even more impressive 'in the flesh' - thank you, here all week. Painting is absolutely top notch.

That looks like lots of fun!

I like what I see of the chaos army, specially the chariots with the manticore and the spawn!

thanks for sharing!

I agree, the table is very nice and the figs are very nicely painted.

Thanks. I'm happy with the chariot unit so far but not quite finished yet. I'll get them sorted out and stick them on the nurgle thread. I need wheels for them yet as only 1 has OK wheels. These will probably be a press mold of dwarf cannon wheels. I have plans for another unit as well as they were a stellar performer in this game and I've got a bag of bits for this purpose. I'm looking for creatures to haul them though so if anyone has any ideas then please suggest.

marell le fou -> The manticore is on the closest chariot  - it's from Pendraken http://www.pendraken.co.uk/DN58-p6380/.

The first game of Warmaster for me and enjoyed the mechanics very much. The Chaos army strength seems to be  relentless combat from what I've seen so far and it's tricky for TK not having an initiative move.

Must read rule book.

Anyone knows of a venue, pub or gaming club that could host a day event?

Not to reinvent the wheel here is one option: http://www.meetup.com/The-London-Warhammer-Gaming-Guild/events/233799448/

Something like that could work. There's also a club near me (Titans in West Finchley) which might be happy for people to turn up and play - it's actually where I learned to play Warmaster many years ago thanks to Stomm (formerly of this forum) and so they could be amenable.

That would be fantastic.
Can you find out if we could arrange something like that there?
then we put a date. Does not even have to be a proper tournament, just folks turning up and playing a couple of games of warmaster.
