Necron Star Pulse Generator vs Ordnance
« on: August 26, 2009, 12:30:04 AM »
It's been a while since I played so forgive me if this has been answered already (I didn't see any other posts to this effect). How does the Necrons' Star Pulse Generator work vs ordnance? It says you get one roll to hit vs every non-Necron ship/piece of ordnance in range, however, I don't see where it's explained how to resolve this special attack. Is it a weapons battery-style attack and if so, what modifiers are used (closing, abeam, etc. for determining which armour value to use)? Or is it treated like a turret attack where it simply hits on a 4+? Or something else? I cannot seem to find anything explaining it in the rules.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Gary

As per BFG FAQ2007:

"The Star Pulse Generator rolls 1D6 to hit against the nearest facing armor value separately against every ship in range. This cannot be saved against by holofields. It rolls 4+ against every separate ordnance marker in range (as opposed to against ordnance waves)."

Thanks. Why they don't post the FAQ on the GW site with the rules I have no idea :(.

The FAQ was posted at the old Specialist Games site before it became unsupported IIRC.
