wihch period (century) covers medieval warmaster?
« on: June 01, 2009, 12:07:15 AM »

I mean, did it cover to XV century? XVI century? XVII century?

Did it have pikes/musketeers and tercio rules?

WM:Medieval Armies includes army lists up to the beginning of XVI century. Last mentioned battles are Flodden and Marignano

No musket/arquebuss rules for european armies. There are pikes, but work just like phalanx from WM:Ancients.
No tertio or colunella rules. Not even Spanish and/or Imperial army in Italian Wars. There are renaissance after all.

Samurai and Koreans are another story - arquebuses, etc.

Thanks Carrington,

¿Which title has your document?

I get two or three years ago a set of homerules abaout renaissence, called RenaissanceMaster, I have read them but not explore them. The feeling are good, and one of the mayor changes to represent the period is that the brigade do not have max number of unities. ¿has any one test it and could give me some feedback?

My idea is start playing (well I started last sunday indeed) with the rules of fantasy, empire vs empire without "monsters or tanks". Read more about the period, and introduce little by little, battle after battle, minor changes that I considered that fit with mood of the period. Instead sitting and writedown major modifications at once.

I should read the medieval because it could give some ideas.

Sounds like that's it.
The other big change is that units fire on command: similar to Blitzkrieg Commander, etc.

So units might get off a number of shots.

http://ermtony.pbworks.com/Renaissance-Commander

rules and army lists for ECW and Italy.

But no Swedes... as yet.

By the way, have you seen
http://www.gmtgames.com/c-5-musket-pike-series.aspx
http://www.gmtgames.com/p-59-gustav-adolf-with-god-victorious-arms.aspx

Probably a good basis for an army list.
