A small Ork army
« on: November 10, 2014, 02:59:30 PM »
So Mork's Waagh!

Like all Waaghs it started small and will continue to grow until it implodes.

The Waagh! coming down from the hills of Mourn

Positioning for battle.

The many faces of Mork.  [GW Orc on Wyvern]

This Orc Hero and two mages decided to stand apart from their commands.  [Hero and central mage from GW Chukka base, the right hand mage from BOFA]

Two units of Black Orc [GW Orcs] and Hero [Hero from GW Chukka base]

Six units of Orcs with their Heroes [All BOFA]

Three units of Gobbos [Baccus] I placed a tree with the goblin mage so I could move him without damaging him.

Boar boys [GW] The models came with the banner painted and I liked it so much I copied it to all the units.

Wolf boys [BOFA] Three models had broken off spears, I applied a pin 'et voila' three standard bearers.

The Trolls stumble forwards. [GW]

And ambling at the rear the Giant and two rock chukkas [GW]

Rebasing them all unified the 'Home painted' and the 'bought in'.

Now I need to get back to the painting.

Hurrah for rebasing!  A perennial hazard of our gaming club, it seems. ;-P

Nice to see them all photographed and recorded for posterity on the net

Great waagh indeed. I really like the base of the wyvern and the way you take advantage of broken lances of wolf raiders.

Is the giant based on 40x20mm?

Very nice scheme of color.

Nice army. If that's a small Waagh! then my own is absolutely tiny :P

I like the idea with the tree

@ Geep

The tree was essential, the model 6 mm is so small I couldn't pick it up easily and was thinking of placing a standard (pin with flag) near it. Then thought of the tree it seemed so right; small mage=cautious=using protective cover. However sometimes he gets packed away with the trees.

@ jchaos79

The Giant is based on a 40 x  20mm and as far as I am aware is a GW model.
The same pins and flags have been used with the gobos, their standards are too delicate and break.
The Wyvern was toppling over so I loaded stones on a metal washer. I rarely pay for the wyvern, but use the model it makes it easier to ID the boss.

Thank you both for your kind words.
