The Inquisition Fleet
« on: February 23, 2012, 11:47:56 PM »
There has been very little discussion (that I have seen) about an Inquisition Fleet. I am trying to wrap my head around it because I don't really see a reason to take this fleet compared to a regular Space Marines Fleet because of all the limitations it has. I do like the Inquisitorial cruiser and the Grey Knight Strike Cruiser but I am not sure that this fleet is work taking over the Space Marines which have the battle barge and venerable battle barge plus the high leadership chart they have.

Can someone help me understand this fleet?
Is the Blackship just a fluff ship that isn't really that great?
Are Inquisitorial Cruisers really the only reason to go with this fleet besides fluff?

You can build and excellent GK fleet with the rules that is at least equal to the Marine list IMO.

How? Does this include a Blackship or mainly just grey knight cruisers?

If I'm not mistaken the Inquisition Fleet from FAQ2010 is not meant as an independent list. Rather, you choose any Imperial or Space Marine fleet list and apply the Inquisition rules (p51-52) 'on top'.

Exactly.
I haven't delved into the list building but I think you can build some fluffy-useful extras into an IN/marine list.

I use the Inquisition fleet list for my Grey Knights fleet, there are some significant benefits to playing GK over normal marines.

1. All strike cruisers and your barge go 5d6 AAF.
2. All strike cruisers come upgraded with the second shield (making them MUCH more durable)
3. you re-roll boarding values if you don't like them.
4. you ignore the effects of 3 of the 4 marks of chaos.

Hmm, good stuff. Anyone have comments on the Blackship?

It is a very fluff oriented ship, and thussly, a terrible thing to feild. It is mostly meant to take part in scenreo games.
