GW fudging point cost
« on: July 31, 2009, 05:35:12 PM »
I am working on updating the rules for FleetMaster and currently work on Tau.  I am having issues getting the points down for them.  Based off the exchanges for the ships I got this:  1 grav hook = 1 ion cannon , 2 bays= 8 torpedoes, 1 ion = 2 weapons battery.  The big issue is with the last one, for other fleets laces are 9 points per at 30cm while WB are 1.5 points per at 30cm. This makes sense for all other fleets.  With the Hero class one variation exchanges 4 Lances at 30cm for 8 WB at 45cm.  I figure 8WB at 45 is about 25 points where 4 Lances at 30 is 35 points.  If using standard values across for the ships I see other issues where they do not make sense.  Based on weapon values, movement shields ect it seems like the Hero class ship is less than the Merchant class.  Any help with points would be grateful.

I am using the Smotherman Formula for fleetmaster as a reference.
How does everyone else calculate points?

Basic calculations for me:

Using official variant as source, then with aid of smothermand +/- points.

Speaking of updated fleetmaster... are there any additions out there for Dark Eldar, Rogue Traders, Adeptus Mechanicus, etc?

Guess not, I am trying to add in those rule sets but got stuck and fed up with Tau.
