I honestly don't hate all marines, just the ones that 8 year olds play all the time. Ultrasmurfs, Nipple Marines, Space puppies, emo marines, the spanish inquisition... they are all small time and overdone.
Give me the Astral Knights, who sacrificed their whole spaceborne chapter to destroy a necron super weapon
Or the Rainbow Warriors, aztec marines who sacrifice the blood and hearts of their foes to the emperor (and think Khorne is a sissy)
Hell, the Fire Hawks and Black Dragons are epic because they are mutated and loyal. Legion of the damned for life!
I even enjoy the grey knights, but Matt Ward went a long way to really screwing them up.
