What's new in BFG?
« on: January 09, 2011, 02:11:46 AM »
I've been absent from BFG for a while and it seems that the community has moved on a bit since I was last here, at least I looked at the flawed faq/ruleset thread and aside from the Eldar MMS rules had no idea what it was talking about, so it certainly seems like I missed something!  So if some kind person wouldn't mind providing a brief synopsis of any important faq's, etc. I've missed that would be great (as a guide the last issue of warp rift I read was issue 22). :)

Thanks,
Dragon Lord

new FAQ 2010 is pending formal release
all fleet lists are being amended to some degree, either as part of the FAQ or as additional supplements (like Chaos, Tau, Rogue Trader, Inquisition)

Hi Dragon Lord!

FAQ2010 is due to be posted on the GW Specialist Games Resources site shortly. It doesn't just clarify ambiguous sections of the rules, it re-writes entire sections, and it would have been much MUCH clearer formatted as a new rulebook version 1.6 (The current pdf of GW website is 1.5).

To play the current official version of the game, you will need at the minimum (from specialist games resources) the Basic Rules, Advanced Rules, FAQ 2010, Ships of the Gothic Sector, and FAQ2010. You'll probably also want the relevant fleet list expansions.

Some of us think that the FAQ took the wrong direction in places (sometimes due to pressure on the High Admirals from GW), and the Flawed Ships/Rules/FAQ threads are basically what we would do instead. These are optional rules, and will be released in various articles of Warp Rift in the coming months.

Thanks very much guys.  I'll wait for the 2010 FAQ to go up then and have a read through that, catch up on the back issues of warp rift and keep my eyes peeled for new developments. :)

@RCgothic:  Hi RC, what are you up to these days?
