question on smotherman formula
« on: January 19, 2011, 12:57:30 PM »
Just a quick question.  If I want to work out the points cost for an Imperial ship to have 6+ armour all round, how should I go about it?

Check the SM rule in the Smotherman formula.

The formula says you have to add a total multiplier of x1.45 (after you have added profile cost of speed, shields, turrets etc and weapons together) to have 6+ all round but this also includes the abilities of having SM crew (+2 boarding, +1 hit n run, +1Ld), so if you technically want 6+ on a "normal" crew you have to adjust accordingly to what seems reasonable ~x1.2.

Maybe x1.45   and then subtract 35  (opposite of adding SM crew and rules to a venerable battle barge)

Thanks very much, i'll add 1.2x, that seems a good estimate.
