Title: Grand cruiser Designs.

Right chaps. One thing that I've always wanted was the flexibility to create your own ship classes. So I've had a go at making a 'create your own' Grand Cruiser. A lot of it is based on the Smotherman formula but I've tweaked it here and there to make it fit the other Grand Cruisers. Can you just cast your experienced eyes over this and see if you'd be happy using it? Or just et me know if there is something glaringly wrong or you'd be unhappy with.

The template uses a basic hull to start with

UPGRADES:

Choose up to two from the following list....
- Str5 WB, Range 30cm +25pts
- Str5 WB, Range 45cm +30pts
- Str6 WB, Range 30cm +30pts.
- Str6 WB, Range 45cm +35pts
- Str2 Lances, Range 30cm +25pts
- Str2 Lances, Range 45cm +40pts (can only be taken once)
- Str2 Lances, Range 60cm +50pts  (counts as two options)
- Str2 Dorsal Lances (L/F/R), Range 60cm +30pts (counts as two options)
- Str3 Dorsal Lances (L/F/R), Range 45cm +40pts (counts as two options)
- Str6 Dorsal WB (L/F/R), Range 45cm +35pts
- Str2 Launch Bays +80pts (counts as two options)

Choose one from the following list
- Str10 WB, Range 30cm +40pts
- Str10 WB, Range 45cm +60pts
- Str10 WB, Range 60cm +80pts
- Str14 WB, Range 45cm +90pts
- Str2 Lances, Range 30cm +35pts
- Str2 Lances, Range 45cm +50pts
- Str3 Launch Bays +100pts



Additional Upgrades

Choose from the following....
- Additional Shield (+1 Shield) +10pts
- Armoured Prow (6+ Prow Armour) +30pts

Choose up to one from the following....
- Improved thrusters +5pts
- Communication uplink +20pts (cannot be taken with armoured prow)
- Prow Torpedoes +25pts
- Prow Weapon batteries (Str6, Range 45cm, L/F/R) +40pts (cannot be taken with armoured prow)
- Prow Nova Cannon (Imperial only) +40pts
 
All weapons, with the exception of Dorsal weapons, are both Port & Starboard facings. Launch bays include Fighters and Bombers. Assault boats are free for Chaos but Imperial ships must pay +5pts

Speed 20cm. Not sure how I managed to miss that off! Think there should be the option for variable speeds? Or just leave it as 20cm as all other Grand Cruisers are 20cm?

I made a few updates to the previous post. I combined dorsal weapons into the Primary weapons section so you can effectively make the Repulsive class.


EDIT:

Just realised you can take Prow 45cm Weapon batteries, Range 60cm Weapon Batteries and Range 45cm Weapon Batteries. That's a broadside Fire power 30 WB at 45cm range. 0.o 290pts though!

Therefore that I like this idea a lot, could you add the Basic Profile again?
