Hi
Do you guys know what the most current and best ruleset is these days?
Is it this one, all the pdfs from basic rules 1+2, faqs, warmaster armies + armies faq and trial rules. 6 pdfs total?
http://wm-selector.appspot.com/army_selector.html?list=highelf
Or are there other important addendums and FAQs? Or more complete rules?
I have the old warmaster rulebook but not sure if the above changes any of that and never did a page by page comparison.
I would love some detailed input to these questions!
Cheers

PDFs are most up-to-date. Some errata is already in them, but not all of it as compared to the rprint book.
-
so the rulebook is actually more up to date?
-
Sorry, no, rulebook is oldest. It has no errata. PDFs are newer, having some errata. Both require the separate errata PDFs however (rulebook more so). There is a living Warmaster PDF out there, it supposedly has it all but I have never checked and don't know who put it together.
-
but when you say errata - there is also faq / errate on wm-selector site - is that enough?
-
That errata on the selector site is the errata I'm talking about. That's all of the official stuff.
-
Great thanks!!
I have sent all pds to a print shop, so I can have a rulebook with everything incl. Rulebook part I & II, FAQ, Warmaster Armies, Armies FAQ and Warmaster Trial Armies. All six pdfs together in one simple print with a plastic spiral, but nice to have collected, I think.
Shall pick up tomorrow for a 3000 pts. game Friday.

The Errata are designed so that you can cut out the particular paragraphs and glue it into the rulebook. I did it with my own printed version and it fit perfectly.
-
Maybe scan and share? ;)
-
I'm afraid that scanning would take much more time than cutting and gluing
Besides you can find the errata implemented in this so-called LRB
http://www.darkagepress.com/WarmasterDownloads.html (http://www.darkagepress.com/WarmasterDownloads.html)

Yeah I was just kidding about that though.
The LRB - I actually asked a while back but no one seem to know if it is correctly updated and most recent or not...
-
Ah, that's Republic's Fury's site. I'm assuming he put it together then. He was on this forum a year and a half ago, posted a few times, talked about playtesting and doing a big thing at a convention down in Texas, was made a mod, and then promptly dropped off of the face of the forum. Again, no idea what's in the LRB on that site.
I talked about doing something like this for Warmaster like I did for Epic: http://tp.net-armageddon.org
Didn't get a whole lot of interest though.
-
That's great!
I think it would make entry easier for new players. To have a sticky in the forum explaining rules, rule revisions and history, most popular fan based rules and that sort of thing...

You know I was/am ok with that Dave... 8) ::)
-
That looks excellent Dave.
Warmaster should be easier to manage that way, as it has far fewer rule changes than Epic.
-
We are all with you on this Dave! Go ahead!

I have the PDF rule book, which I have printed and stuck the errata in, for reasons of my own I printed it in blue to stand out and the errata are in white.
I would be happy to print it off again in white, put the errata in place and then scan it in so you have an errata corrected PDF. If this community wants me to and you can inform me where to upload, or who to e-mail it to.
I can do this for all the errata, obviously not instantly.
As to stickies on rules points.
Well IMHO One of the more irritating aspect of any games system is that mini rules elements are hidden where they are logically needed for one event and then not repeated at another point where they are relevant, because OFC you know that gem of data now don't you. So the rule that applies might not be in the precise situation you are searching at that point in time, and the game goes on hold.
So on my own clubs forum we have started a child forum with rules points in it, you can find it here: http://madgamers.co.uk/newforum/forumdisplay.php?fid=158
Hope this helps as a basis of an idea you might use. I don't promise they are right btw.

Dave, that would be great!
