So, first to write first to ask for...

I would like (I really would like to see) some picture of Sumerian range of Steve barber miniatures... I guess there are no one pic in the whole internet and I have been several years thinking in making this army

I'd like to see a couple of Eureka miniatures I'm looking at for my high elves...  Especially for scale purposes!

The High Elf reavers with axes, which I would like to have as White Lions:

http://www.fighting15sshop.co.uk/400fan22-high-elf-reavers-with-axes-3855-p.asp

And the Lions, which I would hope to add to chariots:

http://eurekamin.com.au/gallery.php?g2_itemId=2525

Just not sure how big they are in comparison...

I just put some charts, and carraiges. Is that the sort of thing you have in mind for a baggage?

Never heard about it. I know that scotia grendel could expand to 10mm range.

Baggage train seems to have good figures though!

can anyone identify these mini's for me, got them with a big bag of mixed stuff on e-bay years ago:

they look like Elfs and Kallistra to me, but i cant seem to find these on their site
Title: Re: Request
Post by: jchaos79 on March 25, 2012, 11:33:59 AM
They defenetively have the sculpt style of pendraken. As they are stripped then I though they came from Kallistra.

As far as I know Paul from Kallistra and Dave from Pendraken went to the school together or at least they knew each other for long time ago. When Paul kick off Kallistra, Dave lend him the fantasy range. Kallistra stripped the figures and make some slightly conversions. As fantasy pendraken are 10-11mm Kallistra figures were slighter bigger than 10mm. And when starts his historic range kallistra follow the same size (I think reaching the 12mm).

Kallistra has realesed a lot of figures and I did not follow his evolution too much, so I do not really know the size of the figure realeased in the last years.

I have seen Adler figurines also makes 10mm gauls

will be great see some figures
Title: Re: Request
Post by: calmacil on April 03, 2012, 02:46:00 PM
Yeah i made that mistake as well, i didn't realise pendraken and kallistra were similar ranges. I bought myself some kallistra dark elves, then ordered pendraken (a gamble because they don't have any pics on their site) and they were the same. Makes sense that they know each other, that explains a lot jchaos  :)

Here's a pic showing more of the pendraken/kallistra dark elf command range
(http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr279/waylander2/warmaster.jpg)
They are slightly bigger, so i use the dark elves on horse as heroes. That way you can't really tell they are 12mm
(i cut the rider off the dinosaur, i used his head as a mage conversion)

I open a entry in the catalogue for other manufacturers and scales with models suitable for warmaster.

Then you could show trolls, giants, mounts, conversions involving non 10mm scales. Please if it is possible comment the original manufacturer and if it is known the code of the article to make easier to find if someone is interested.

as you are becoming a walking image gallery or maybe a Mentat (ref Dune) do you know of any suitable 10mm or maybe 15mm insect swarms, I have been looking and found none suitable?

Post by: jchaos79 on May 22, 2012, 06:48:25 PM
Here are some possiblities for bugs and insects:

1) scarab swarm: http://sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=4585.0
2) insects and bugs: http://sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=4587.0
3) giant spider (ok is not an insect and neither a swarm..): http://sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=4229.0
4) some pupas or insect bags: http://sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=4586.0
5) Black Ed, has made marvellous giant worms for pendraken (maybe he could upload some shots here), and also has modeled some swarms of worms... but I think they are not under pendraken production, (correct Ed if I am wrong)
6) Also Germy had modelled few years ago the most of the range Dungeon monsters for pendraken. It have some wierd monsters, but really swarms.

hope it helps

Hi jchaos
The mirliton miniatures Scarabs look great however I cannot find them on their web site, do you remember what range they came from?

You could use this threat to request to community some pictures you would like to see.
If possible, some good ships in warmaster scale. I was tempted to get some man-o-war ships, but they're too small

I'd like to see 10mm ships (i think that's 1/72 ?)

I'm guessing they would be non-fantasy, but could be tweaked with a few conversions.
Title: Re: Request
Post by: jchaos79 on June 05, 2012, 05:47:17 PM
Ok, ships for 10mm. Actually only Penraken and Steve Barber, from the 10mm figures manufacturers, have ship models. I think steve barbers ships are better modelled than pendraken. Both manufacturers have ships of roman or ancient greek ships.

To search for other models that actually fit with warmaster 10mm, you have to go to 1/144 scale models (0.694% of the real size). That is really 12mm scale but vehicles and scenery fit well. Other scale that could fit well is N-scale of railway models (it is 1/148 or 1/160 depending of the country you stay).

1/72 is too big warmaster.
Title: Re: Request
Post by: jchaos79 on June 16, 2012, 09:24:32 PM
There is out there out some manufacturers of 10mm with interesting figures. Not really for fantasy but maybe some converstions could be made:

1) Dropzone commander of Hawk games, for lovers of sci fi, vehicles battles and tactial squad.

2) Time line 300 of Troublemakers games, for lovers of stame punk, top hats, and mechanical artifacts.

3) American Football teams of Grebbo, very useful for blood bowl.

I will make the entries in the catalogue with the manufacturers link, and if someone of you have this figures, share them :)

If someone is skilled enough to make his own miniatures, whatever setting, period, etc... and want to show them or maybe give a contact to people can pm them talking about the creations feel free to use the catalogue.

It could be a good point of encounter and show your minis. Aslo to see them painted and commenting about them.

Title: Re: Request

Howdy,

wondering if anyone can possibly furnish me with some pics of pendraken dwarfs standing next to GW dwarfs (if you felt like including some irregular, eureka and kallistra (and any other available manufacturer) dwarfs too I wouldn't complain!)

I'm trying to fill out my dwarf force at the moment, and I need at least 4 units of warriors (probably 6 to be on the safe side) and I'm wondering how well other manufacturer's models will sit with GW, whether I can mix them all in, or some are a better match than others.... plus I'm aware Kallistras will probably be too big, but the painting and photos of them on their own site are pretty horrendous!
Title: Re: Request
Post by: jchaos79 on June 05, 2013, 03:15:07 PM
Hi Kyussinchains,

Pendraken have two ranges of dwarves, both of them are quite old (about 10 years old), but made in different moments and maybe different sculptors.

I have only one reference of dwarves, I will make some comparison shots with irregular and GW in the following days.

But if someone else could make more entries in the catalogue they will be very welcome!
Title: Re: Request
Post by: kyussinchains on June 05, 2013, 03:21:53 PM
yeah I just found out about that today, I did wonder, I'm probably more interested in the hill dwarfs rather than the old 'walking beard' dwarfs..... I have seen some eureka and copplestone dwarfs next to a GW one and they look like a near-perfect match.... if the Pendraken ones are a good match I can fill out my dwarf force with relative ease (and minimum expense!)

many thanks for the offer of pics, I'll look forward to them eagerly :)
Title: Re: Request
Post by: andys on June 05, 2013, 05:44:43 PM

Title: Re: Request
Post by: kyussinchains on June 05, 2013, 06:33:57 PM
There are a couple in the hero pack.....not a cost effective way to build an army I'll grant you.....

Nice models, shame he didnt do more, maybe the reported eye strain he suffered had something to do with it!
Title: Re: Request
Post by: andys on June 06, 2013, 06:20:56 AM
Ah, yes, my bad! Still, as you say, an expensive way to build an army!
Title: Re: Request
Post by: jchaos79 on June 09, 2013, 02:23:41 PM
Hi Kyussinchains, I have just added a size comparison of hill dwarves (FHD15) and also a new entry of the other range of dwaves (FD1).

My humble opinion, I have no trouble mixing GW, PEN and IRR dwarves. The style of sculpt is different, yes, but on the tabletop is good for my taste.
Title: Re: Request
Post by: kyussinchains on June 09, 2013, 03:12:19 PM
That's quite a relief! I saw some pics on a guy's blog where he compared some pendraken dwarfs to eureka anvil dwarfs and they were considerably bigger..... Looks like I can finish my dwarf army after all!!
Title: Re: Request
Post by: jchaos79 on June 09, 2013, 03:29:34 PM
Just a advise, make a little order of the references you do not have pictures before purchasing the whole army. As pendraken range of fantasy has grown over years, they could have different sculptors and different level of detail in the same range.

I can happily agree Copplestone worg riders are excellent and offer 12 different poses . Very dynamic as well .

You could also consider steppe goblins as replacement figures for goblin .

I bought bofa , and started looking round for alternatives . The struggle I have is the wood elves as few options available , and less so for character's and spear / sword alternatives .
